When personal sessions are too expensive, we recommend

1. Group sessions: these sessions involve you and a group of 5/10 people allowing you split the bill while still getting the same results. Groups are created only for people with similar challenges and are usually opened in cohorts.

2. Bundles: these combine live teachings, courses and DIY therapy tools like journaling into one product – they give you the opportunity to pace yourself and cover more grounds than single tools.

3. Discount Seasons: we periodically have crazy discounts and giveaways because we want to help as many people as possible while being able to cover operational costs. Sometimes, we offer as high as 90%  discounts but you will never know if you are not following us on social media

4. Live Challenges: while you can always access challenges at your pace on the website and access all replays, most challenges happen live first. Live challenges come with free group sessions, accountability and Q & A sessions.

As usual, the easiest way to be in the know is to be connected with us, socially

Session Timing

We don’t recommend any specific number until your consultation session (first session) has taken place.

Interestingly, the numbers set after your consultation isn’t set in stone; if results come after one more session, then we are done. We will never hold you down.

Sessions can only happen once a week and each session is either 60-90 minutes (individuals) and 90 – 120 minutes (couples).

Under special circumstances, sessions can be cut down to 45 minutes (and carried over if it becomes too emotionally intensive) or stretched to 120 minutes (if a lot of emotional support is required to manage an emergency situation).

No session will be extended without your verbal consent so as not to get you in debt.

Many of our clients are busy people who are unavailable during work hours as they are at work or in some important meetings. To make life easy for them, we have extra hour sessions.

1. Weekday extra hours: these are sessions that are scheduled to hold between 5 pm and 8pm.

2. Weekend workhours: these hold between 9 am – 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Note: these days might be unavailable sometimes due to the schedules of the therapists. Kindly do well to pick your choice when paying and book your precise date in the calendar.

Your therapist is also striving for a work-life balance therefore, they want time off, leaves and weekends off just like you.

Every extra hour requires an extra payment to complement them for the hours spent not resting and for the services rendered on behalf of the organization (not leaving you stranded).

As a team, we practise and teach rest – we will not be the ones to burn out the fantastic people who dedicate themselves to helping others unburden.

However, as we increase our team of therapists and balance our shift systems, we will be able to take weekend extra hours as well. So, keep your fingers crossed.

No. However, like you would get an annual check up and inform your Doctor of any arising/strange symptoms, we recommend keeping your Therapist informed at least 3 months after your sessions are officially over.

Absolutely! We do so at a different price and timeline.

D.I.Y. Solutions

Absolutely not. The tools were designed for anyone above the age of 15 to be able to comprehend and use even though our audience those aged 18 and above

Many of the tools are journal therapy tools and they come with written guidelines. Some even have backup explanatory videos depending on the package you choose.

It is not mandatory. The tools were designed for you to use yourself that’s why it is called ‘Do It Yourself (DIY).

However, you might begin to notice patterns while using a DIY tool that shows you there’s a deeper problem than this surface symptoms you bought the DIY tool for or you may see problems that you are unequipped to handle yourself. This is where you decide to commit to personal therapy.

Every DIY tool available on the site is a generic tool for specific situations that is why it is not a substitute to your doctor, therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist

Yes, you can. However, it is not recommended as you may serve as a voice of emotional pressure for them. They love you and will instinctively want to please. Unfortunately, that unconscious lie will skew the results and mess up what you both want to achieve.

The tools are as effective as

1. your truthfulness: did you fill in honest answers or did you fill your answers like someone will read it and judge you? If you will not be truthful, don’t bother because the results, perceptions and suggestions will be counter productive.

2. your consistency: if you are undergoing a 30-day habit challenge for example, that feels hard but it takes an average of 45-days to really set the template for a new habit. Imagine breaking 30 days and being upset it didn’t work. More than we want you to pay, we want you to follow through.

3. your practise: the longest DIY tool is 30 days long and the classes are a maximum of 7 hours. That isn’t long enough to change anything if you don’t put it to practice.

Realistically, a 12-week counselling session won’t change you even if you were in for 2 hours every week because 6 whole days + 22 hours to go out there and reinforce your past & trauma or your healing & future.

Practice is key.

Your Rights as a Counsellee

No. However, be aware that what you withhold might hamper the intervention you are both creating.

So, here are a few things to watch out for before you spill your guts

1. Comfort: do you feel comfortable with them? When you listen to them and when they listen to you, do you feel heard? Do you feel empathy? Can you trust this person to be a guide? Have they earned that position as your guide?

The first session is for your therapist to gauge if they can really help you but it is also yours to gauge if you are comfortable and if you can trust them.

2. Security: do you feel safe? If it is a physical session,

  • are they recording you without your consent?,
  • are they gaslighting/ emotionally blackmailing you?
  • Is this person magnifying your insecurities in a way that makes you feel like you will be helpless if you need them?
  • Is this person touching you without your consent or making sexual advances at you?
  • Is there a third party within the facility (even if it’s a security guard)?
  •

If it is an online session? pay attention to comfort and always ensure you consent/not consent to official recordings.

Therapy is emotional, it is raw and it requires vulnerability. The last thing you want is to get hurt during therapy. So, feel free to scrutinize your therapist like you will a neurosurgeon who is to help you heal from a brain tumour.

Yes, you can. However, ensure you are ending a session when you are healed. This means, you can end therapy with a therapist and switch to another therapist you trust more.

You cannot banish yourself to a life of hurt and internal imprisonment to prove your point about therapists. There are amazing therapists scattered all over the world just like there are creepy ones.

1. Check the contract on how to terminate your sessions.

2. Just walk away (especially if you feel highly threatened in a way you cannot point out)

3. Finish the sessions (only if they are not a lot and there’s no actual threat but a dissatisfaction at the technique)

No, they cannot

1. They cannot because they are too emotionally invested in your wellbeing as such, their personal biases, ambitions for you and emotions will get triggered and taint their objectivity.

2. They are risking their practicing license depending on where in the world they got licensed. If anything was to go wrong and it became a legal case, the law will be against them – that isn’t something you want to do to your family member.

3. Your truth is at risk: can they really handle the totality of your hurt? Can you trust them not to look at you with unnecessary pity and sentiments? Will you be comfortable telling them the whole truth and nothing but the truth (no embellishments or plea for pity). All these questions are based on an assumption that they are quiet enough not to divulge that information at the family dinner table during Christmas.

You paid your therapist to be confidential – that’s why you didn’t go to a social media page to solicit suggestions.

If your therapist cannot be confidential, you can end the session. Depending on the laws, you might be able to file for breach of contract.

1. When your life is at stake (cases like attempted suicide)

2. When you are a security threat to other people or your case matters to social security and the state.

3. When you need more help than the therapist can provide and they are transferring your case file.
